What we confirm before production
Confirmed against the installed system before production.
NFC guest products do not touch your access-control system and need no compatibility confirmation against it. What does need confirming is the destination: the URL structure, who maintains it, and whether it is reachable without a login. A tag pointing at a dead page is worse than no tag.

Available materials
Where a tag is mounted on or near metal, a standard tag will not read — an on-metal construction with a ferrite layer is required. This is the single most common reason an NFC deployment appears to fail on installation.

Give every NFC touchpoint one clear job
An in-room or public-area tap should lead to a maintained, mobile-ready destination with an accessible fallback. Define the guest action, content owner, update process, language behaviour and analytics boundary before approving the physical item. Guest information and secure room access remain separate technical briefs.

NFC guest-experience products
Do guests need an app?
No. Current iOS and Android handsets read NFC tags natively. That is the main practical argument for using a tag rather than a QR code with an app behind it.
Can we change what the tag does after installation?
Yes, if you point the tag at a URL you control and change the page rather than the tag. If the record is written directly to the tag and locked, changing it means replacing the tags.
Will a tag work on a metal door or a marble surface?
Marble is fine. Metal is not, unless the tag is an on-metal construction. Tell us the mounting surface and we will specify accordingly.
Can the same tag open the room as well?
No, and it should not. Access credentials and guest-information tags are separate products with separate security requirements. Mixing them creates a problem neither was designed to solve.
