What we confirm before production

Confirmed against the installed system before production.

Material choice does not change the confirmation process, but it can change the result. A wood face sits marginally further from the reader, so where a property runs older or lower-powered readers we test a physical sample against them before confirming the run.

FSC-certified material options available with supporting production documentation. Recycled content is stated per run and documented. We do not make broader environmental claims on your behalf — a card is not carbon neutral because its body was recycled, and overclaiming is the most common own goal in hospitality procurement.

Compare sustainable card materials by evidence

Material language should be narrow enough to verify. Ask what the card body contains, which statement accompanies the selected batch, how the surface prints, how the edge wears and what the expected service environment is. A documented material attribute should not be expanded into an unsupported whole-lifecycle claim.

Sustainable-material key cards

Can we say our key cards are FSC certified?

You can say FSC-certified material options are available with supporting production documentation, which is what we supply. Stating that a company or a whole range holds certification is a different claim, and it needs a licence code and a certificate holder.

Does a recycled card feel cheaper?

Recycled PVC can retain familiar card handling, but tone, finish and stiffness are approved on the quoted construction. Paper-based bodies feel different by design. Use the physical sample rather than a photograph to make the decision.

Will a wood card work with our locks?

Usually, but this is the one material where we test rather than assume. The veneer adds distance between the antenna and the reader, and older readers have less margin to give.

What documentation comes with the order?

A material declaration for the substrate supplied, a recycled content statement where applicable, batch and quantity reconciliation per carton, and the approved artwork proof for your records.
